Contributions
Ancient Egypt was filled with my contributions that we still use in modern day. Let's take a look at some of them down below!
Calendar~The ancient Egyptians also invented the 365 day calendar, and the leap year system. At the time, other civilizations recorded and marked information with the lunar calendar system. But the Egyptians changed the way of keeping track of the date by established a solar system calendar that included, 12 months with 30 days in each, with 5 extra days. The leap year was also conceived by the Egyptians because they added one day every fourth year, starting in 238 B.C.
Architecture/Mathematics~When it came to building in Egypt math was incorporated into it, just like it is today. Figuring out how much mud bricks they should make for the walls, the width and heights of the temples and pyramids, and the shapes and sizes of the bases. Egyptians used hieroglyphics for their numbers (link hieroglyphics). Instead of writing out numbers like we do today, they used symbols too represent the numerals. For example, 1 represented a simple stroke, 10 is represented by a hobble for a cattle, 100 is a coiled rope, and 1000 is represented by a lotus flower.

Papyrus Plant & Toothpaste~The Egyptians discovered how to make durable sheets of paper, from a papyrus plant. The use of parchment was very important to the the Egyptians because it enabled them to write about their religion and important documents.
Because their bread had so much grit and sand in it, the Egyptians had a lot of problems with their teeth. They invented the toothbrush and toothpaste in an effort to take care of their teeth. They used a wide variety of ingredients to make their toothpaste including ashes, eggshells, and even ground up ox hooves. Plow~
